Make The Books Explain The Business.
Revenue, inventory, payroll, benefits and equipment all have a place in the return. Reconcile the balance sheet and prior-year positions so today’s filing does not start with unexplained numbers.

The Company You Built Deserves A Clear Tax Picture
You built a business, not just another filing obligation. Connect the corporation’s income, the money owners receive and the decisions that come next.
A C corporation is a separate taxpayer. Its return tells one part of the story. What happens when money reaches a shareholder tells another.
The initial consultation is free. No purchase required. Return preparation and planning are separately engaged.

Corporate profit is not automatically passed through to your Form 1040.
Wages, dividends, reimbursements and loans are different transactions.
Entity choice depends on how the business earns, retains and distributes money.
The Questions Behind The Return
Revenue, inventory, payroll, benefits and equipment all have a place in the return. Reconcile the balance sheet and prior-year positions so today’s filing does not start with unexplained numbers.
A bank transfer does not tell us whether it is compensation, a distribution or repayment of a real loan. The documents and actual conduct matter. Keep personal spending from becoming an unexplained corporate transaction.
Retaining cash, adding an owner, selling assets or closing the business can affect both levels. A corporate tax rate alone is not an entity-selection strategy. Bring the intended use of the money into the conversation.
A Hypothetical Owner’s Question
A profitable C corporation pays its own income tax and later distributes money to a shareholder. That distribution needs a separate shareholder-level analysis. Corporate tax paid does not automatically make the later payment tax-free.
Start with the transaction: compensation, a distribution, a properly supported reimbursement or a genuine debt repayment. Then review its facts and tax treatment. Calling every withdrawal a draw does not resolve the question.
Illustration only. A distribution’s treatment depends on applicable earnings and profits, stock basis and other facts. No tax calculation or savings is promised.
Good Records Make The Next Step Clearer
Begin with what you have. The initial consultation puts the concern in context; the secure intake connects it with the records.
Do not post tax identifiers or documents publicly. Use the firm’s secure intake for private records.
Direct Answers. Informed Decisions.
No. Form 1120 generally reports a C corporation’s own income tax. Form 1120-S reports an entity with an effective S corporation election and generally passes tax items through to shareholders. Similar names do not make the returns interchangeable.
No. An LLC can have different federal tax classifications. Review its number of owners, any classification election and any S election before choosing a return. State formation paperwork alone does not settle the federal filing requirement.
Generally, a domestic corporation must file an income tax return even without taxable income, unless an exception applies. No profit, no activity and a legally dissolved company are different situations. Check the filing requirement rather than assuming it disappeared.
A label does not establish a genuine loan. The facts, documentation, repayment terms and actual conduct matter. Identify owner transfers in the records before treating them as compensation, distributions or debt.
Keep both versions. Reconcile opening balances, prior tax adjustments and any changes made after filing. Do not quietly overwrite history to force a match; the difference may need an explanation or a separately evaluated correction.
Generally, no. A filing extension does not generally extend the corporate tax payment deadline. Work from a supported estimate and confirm the applicable payment and extension requirements.
The initial tax consultation gathers context and concerns. Corporate return preparation, research, written advice and representation require their own defined engagement. Starting the consultation does not submit Form 1120 or accept a filing deadline on the firm’s behalf.
Yes. Corporate earnings and a shareholder dividend can be taxed at separate levels. Distributions require their own analysis, including earnings and profits and stock basis. Corporate tax paid does not automatically settle the shareholder’s liability.
A C corporation’s operating loss generally stays with the corporation rather than passing through to shareholders like a partnership allocation. Loss carryovers and a shareholder’s separate stock or debt position are different questions.
No. Reporting officer compensation on the corporate income tax return does not replace payroll deposits, payroll returns or wage statements. Coordinate the records and separately define payroll work.
The general rule is the 15th day of the fourth month after the tax year ends, adjusted for weekends and legal holidays. Special fiscal-year and short-year rules can apply, including June year ends. Check the instructions for the actual tax year rather than assuming every corporation has the same deadline.
Not automatically. A final corporate return, asset dispositions, shareholder distributions and separate state or payroll obligations may need attention. Dissolution paperwork and tax filings are different steps.
No purchase or paid appointment is required for the free prerecorded initial tax consultation. The Guide is optional for return preparation and required for Tax Advisory. Corporate preparation, individual returns and written research are separately scoped.
